God is concerned about the whole man. He desires wholeness in your spirit, soul and body. He not only desires this wholeness but He paid a price for it on the cross. Your spirit is who you really are, your soul is your mind, will and emotions. Your body temporarily houses it all. Your spirit man is born again when you are saved and then it grows in God but your soul needs healing.
You can’t have spiritual wholeness without emotional healing. There are three stages to emotional healing, 1) healing wounds 2) Dealing with our reactions & responses to the wounds 3) walking it out.
So, how can I be whole when I have been crushed to pieces? Well, God can fix it. God can fix you but you have to be willing to give Him all the pieces. We have to deal with our wounds from the past which can be really painful but remember what God reveals God heals. We don’t get healed unless we get real. We have to start by allowing the Holy Spirit to identify to us the wounds and their sources. Once they are identified to us then the healing process starts. And it takes time. Emotional healing is a process but it will come.
In Luke 17 Jesus heals ten lepers but only one returns and falls at His feet in worship. When he does Jesus says to him “Rise and go your faith has made you WHOLE.” This shows me that there are different levels and many different touches from Jesus. Nine lepers were healed and only one was whole. Whole here means completeness. You Jesus wants us to keep coming back to Him so he can take us from level to level or from glory to glory. His ultimate goal for us is Wholeness.
John 10:10 Jesus said “I have come that they may have life to the full.” This full, complete, whole, abundant life is only reached when we allow God to heal the deep, broken wounds in our soul and allow God to heal them HIS way not our way.
Today, BE STILL and know that He is God. Ask Him to identify the wounds and their sources and to start the emotional healing process in your life, then, enjoy HIS wholeness.
